The Citywide Drop-off is next Saturday, June 3, at Harding High School (1540 E. 6th St. - Use 3rd Street Entrance), 8am to 1pm. This event is a great way to finally get rid of larger items and some things your trash hauler won’t take. Appliances, lawn mowers and other small engines, furniture, bicycles, TVs and electronics, construction debris, tires, florescent light bulbs, and scrap wood can all be disposed of for a small fee. A re-use center is on site as well to find good condition items a new home. This year, once again,

Things NOT accepted at the Citywide Drop-Off
Yard Waste and compostables should be brought to one of the local compost sites, not to this drop-off event. Paint, oil, old batteries, and similar hazardous waste are also not accepted and should be taken to one of the local hazardous waste sites for disposal.

These Drop-off events are also a fantastic way to get involved in the community as a volunteer. Community volunteers direct people to the correct areas and assist with unloading heavy items and are essential to making the whole process run as smoothly as possible. Volunteers can also be part of the Senior Pick-Up Crew which picks up items from homes and transports them to the site. All volunteers should be able to lift 30lb and be on their feet for several hours. Volunteer perks (other than an overwhelming sense of community pride) include getting to drop-off some items for free and usually some pizza from District 1’s Little Oven. Call 651-578-7600 to volunteer or arrange senior pick-up.
