Where we are now
Like most district Councils in Saint Paul, SECO has the resources to provide English language materials, but adapting our information to all the languages spoken in our district is challenging. We’ve taken steps to ensure that SECO’s website has taken can be translated into our district’s most common languages. However, there’s more to be done. Most district councils and nonprofits in the city share that not only is it challenging to provide multiple languages from a resources perspective, but it’s also challenging to find translators. We’re taking first steps at SECO by providing our community survey in multiple languages.
How you can help
You can help by giving a contribution to support us hiring translators to provide materials across multiple languages. Giving a donation of $24 goes a long way, and giving even a small monthly contribution ensures that we’ll be able to translate materials throughout the year.
You can also help by giving your time and experience. Do you have translation skills, or would you like to be part of the team working to expand language accessibility? Reach out to us at [email protected]. We value your input, and want to keep growing our reach to make sure everyone in our community has the information they need to be healthy and connected.
