SECO Board Election Process, Application & Voting

VOTE!  Voting starts Saturday, May 31 @ noon.  You can vote online (see button below) until Monday, June 2 @ noon.  In person voting at the SECO offices is Sunday, June 1 from 1 -4 and Monday, June 2 from 4-6.  See details below.
The Southeast Community Organization has 15 total seats on our Board of Directors. Board members are elected to 2-year terms. Seven seats are up for election in odd-numbered years and eight are up in even-numbered years. Vacant seats that are not normally up for election in a given election may be filled via the election (the top vote-getters win the full-term seats while the next-highest-vote-getters win the half-term seats). This year, there are 7 full-term seats up for election.
Vote in the SECO Board Election
  • As candidates apply we will post information about them on our candidates page.  Link posted when we have info to share.
  • Online voting for the SECO Board Election:
    > Saturday, May 31 - noon, Monday, June 2. 
    > You can vote for up to 7 candidates.
  • In-person voting for the SECO Board Election:
    > Sunday, June 1 from 1 - 4 pm.
    > Monday, June 2 from 4 - 6 pm.
    Voting will be available at the SECO office located at 2105 1/2 Old Hudson Road .   
Election Results
Election Results will be announced at SECO's May Meeting, which will actually be June 2 - starting at 6:00 pm.  You can join us either virtually or in person at the Conway Athletic Complex, located at 2080 Conway, Ecolab Room.

Interested in being on the Board?
The deadline to sign up to be a candidate for the SECO Board elections has passed.  However, if you are interested in being on the board (and missed this round of elections), we may have open seats that we will appoint people to. Fill out the 2025-2026 interest form (will be posted soon) and we will reach out to you! Thank you!
Job Description
Job Title: Board Member 
Neighborhoods: Eastview, Conway, Battle Creek, and Highwood in St. Paul, MN 
Salary: Unpaid - but rewarded with great experience and resume building
Type: 
Part-time - volunteer 
Meetings: Attend at least 7 of the 10 monthly board meetings held on the fourth Monday of the month in the evening, also participate in a committee or project.

Eligibility/Qualifications
Anyone aged 16 or above who lives, goes to school or works in the Eastview, Conway, Highwood, or Battle Creek neighborhoods are eligible to be candidates for the SECO board. [Boundaries]
