Development and Licensing

Official City of St. Paul Website
Saint Paul, the head of navigation of the great Mississippi River, is a City of neighborhoods. Like a network of urban villages, our neighborhoods are strong and stable, each with its own fascinating texture of historic interest, cultural landmarks, ethnic heritage and time-honored traditions. This is why people lucky enough to live here feel a remarkable sense of belonging, a sense of place.  Check this site for information for residents, businesses and visitors.  Check the About St. Paul page for more info about our city.

St. Paul Department of Planning and Economic Development
The Planning and Economic Development Department (PED) administers a variety of planning, housing, business and economic development activities. These activities support a number of neighborhood initiatives and also provide direct benefits to home owners, home buyers, renters and businesses. Working in partnership with community and neighborhood partners, we increase investment and values throughout Saint Paul. It is our goal to ensure Saint Paul is the most livable city in America.

St. Paul Department of Safety and Inspections
This is the department that handles permits, licensing, zoning, environmental health, property code enforcement, animal control and much more.  When you get to the page look in the right sidebar for a complete list and links.
