Drop-Off Day 2019
Some of you might remember Arlo Guthrie's experience with illegal dumping in Alice's Restaurant!? Don't let this happen to you!
East side Drop-Off Day! (Rain or Shine!)
This is a big deal.
Every year, the city and residents deal with illegal dumping of mattresses, furniture, debris and electronics. We find piles in our parks and waterways, as well as vacant lots and alleys. It contaminates our green spaces and costs money to clean up. The annual Drop-Off Day events help deter illegal dumping in our parks and neighborhoods. Drop-Off Day encourages St. Paul residents to dispose of items correctly and legally.
We need volunteers to assist in the process. Help greet neighbors, unload vehicles, and make decisions about what can be recycled and what needs to go to the trash. There are two shifts available.
Date: Saturday, September 14
Harding Senior High School Parking Lot
1540 6th St E, St Paul, MN 55106
The City of St. Paul partners with local district councils to organize annual community drop-off events.

Location: Harding High School parking lot

You may volunteer for one or both shifts
*All volunteers receive breakfast, lunch, refreshments and a voucher to drop off a free load of items!

CLOSED - Senior Pick-Up Volunteers Needed
Got a pick-up, van or trailer? We need your help! Volunteers are also needed to help pick up items from older adults (seniors) and veterans in our community. Senior Pick-up volunteers receive a small gas card as a token of thanks for their help. Senior pick-up begins at 7:30 am and lasts until all items are picked up and delivered to the drop-off site.
Senior pick-up volunteers spend their time going to various pre-scheduled addresses to retrieve items and bring them to Harding High School to drop off. Senior pick-up volunteers work in teams and may be expected to help pick up anything from dehumidifiers, old printers and scrap wood to appliances or old fire pits. They are not required to pick-up items that are extremely heavy or in difficult to access locations. Pick-up volunteers may turn down an item if they are unable to lift or retrieve it, or, if the homeowner seems capable of being able to move items themselves. Please complete the sign-up form to volunteer!

CLOSED - Pick-up for older adults, Veterans and individuals with disabilities
Individuals requesting free pickup must either have a disabled parking sticker (tag/license), Disabled American Veteran's Status, or ID Card showing that you are over 60 years old to be eligible for the pickup. These may be verified by crew members. Crews cannot pick up substantial amounts of construction debris. Crews also have the right to deny an item if it is too heavy or in a difficult location.
Seniors, Veterans and individuals with disabilities with District 1 can request that items be picked up from their homes to be disposed of during the Drop-Off Day event on, Saturday, September 14, 2019. Residents will be required to pay for the disposal fee (information on costs below). Additional information is available on the City of St. Paul website.
Pick-up is available on a first-come first-served basis and is NOT guaranteed until we contact you with a confirmation a week before the event. Availability is completely dependent on the number of volunteers we have sign-up to assist. Pick-ups will only be made for residents within the City of St. Paul, and living within some parts of 55119 and 55106 area codes.
Residents may be asked to show identification of their age or status.
Volunteers reserve the right to refuse any pick-up item if it is too heavy, in a difficult location, is not easily accessible or cannot be disposed of through this event.
Payment can be mailed in advance to our office, or checks can be given to volunteers on the day of the event. Credit cards are not accepted. Checks should be made out to The City of St. Paul and can be mailed to D1CC, 2105 1/2 Old Hudson Road, St. Paul, MN 55119.
