New 'Youth Council" gives teens a voice and a purpose The East Side Freedom Library has agreed to provide their space for the ongoing East Side Pride Open Mic! The mission of the East Side Pride Open Mic is to: "create a safe space for cultivating artistic talents, supporting youth expression and development as they celebrate their community." The D1 Youth Council will help organize and host it. It is our hope that east side youths will come to know their district councils and their opportunities in this place. The open mic is projected to happen every 3rd Tuesdays of the month from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm starting on August, 16th, 2016. |
