Summary of Board Orientation 4/26/16

4/27/2016

Our newly elected board met for its annual orientation and retreat on Tuesday, April 26 at Pathways on the Park. Business conducted at the meeting included re-electing our Board President and Vice President, Paul Sawyer and Tom Mohr, for their second terms, and approving our 3rd quarter financial reports. Both were approved unanimously on voice votes. We talked about how we will transition to new board officers as officers reach their term limits (limit is 2 consecutive 2 year terms in the same office).

Discussion at the meeting centered on the roles open to board members on our committees and updates from staff on current work, including our newly formed Youth Council and our Youth Task Force. We also heard about recent awards from funders for our youth work and for the mural project in the Highwood neighborhood.

Many thanks to Pathways on the Park for hosting, to Bonnie Watkins for feeding us, and for Tom Mohr and Paul Sawyer for providing beverages. This was a great opportunity for board members to get to know each other and to build a sense of partnership in their roles.
