What: East Side Peace Celebration Where: Battle Creek Recreation Center; 75 Winthrop Street [map] Date: Saturday, July 22 Time: 3:00 - 7:00 pm District 1 Community Council, East African Community Association of USA, along with many community partners are co-hosting The first East Side Peace Celebration, uniting the community around the common goal of peace and solidarity. Bring the family and let the kids have fun, while everyone can enjoy some entertainment. Food trucks will offer food for sale, and there will be free food for kids. There are lots of activities including a bounce house, painting, bike rodeo and bike giveaway, mounted police officers, an obstacle course, and lots more games, entertainment, and fun! Know your neighbors. Make friends. Make peace! (This is a weather permitting event and will be cancelled in the event of rain.)
